DIIV - Oshin

So, Brooklyn indie rockers Dive changed their name to DIIV (“The word was an element of what inspired the project in its genesis, but we’ve outgrown the name and its associations,” Cole Smith told Pitchfork ). Luckily, as a salve to the possible confusion the group also posted reverberating rocker “Doused,” so that’s awesome. Slightly modified art for the forthcoming Oshin is up top and get “Doused” below.

Oshin is out 6/26 on Captured Tracks.

Name change taken into account, following this band has become pretty interesting because they’ve changed so much since their first tracks hit the web. By the time their debut arrives, Nigel Godrich will have re-produced the effort, it’ll arrive on Domino and under the name “Beach Fossils.” I think that is Z. Cole’s plan all along!

  2. DIIV kicks ass!!
