So far, we’ve heard three cuts, in some form, from the forthcoming self-titled full length from Californian hardcore revivalists OFF!: “King Kong Brigade,” “Cracked” and “Wiped Out.” Now the entire record — which is like, 16 songs in about as many minutes — has been posted online. Hit the stream at Spin. OFF! is out 5/8 on Vice.

If not for the stream, then read Keith’s interview. The guy doesn’t say anything that isn’t interesting even when he’s just talking about allergy phlegm.

I really like this album, but then again, this is right up my alley. It isn’t fancy and doesn’t pull any new moves really out of OFF!’s typical angry, short, fast punk repertoire. My fear is that during the first go-round with the First Four EPs, there was a novelty factor in the critical acclaim and attention it received from certain tastemaker sites. I think the reignited interest in hardcore from tastemaker sites peaked after last year, and now all those review sites are wanting those hardcore bands to evolve into something more like The Men.
