Spiritualized on Letterman

You have to love the fact that Spiritualized are getting airtime on network television in 2012. Last night, the band rolled through the Late Show With David Letterman, playing an abridged but still monolithic and noisy version of “Hey Jane,” the opener and lead single from their deeply excellent new album Sweet Heart Sweet Light. It sounded great, and I liked how it looked like Letterman was just holding up a cue card when he showed off the album cover. Watch it below.

Sweet Heart Sweet Light is out now on Fat Possum; buy it from eMusic. Letterman seemed really annoyed about that whole album cover thing.

  1. Wow. I had no idea Spaceman could perform live while standing up.

  2. Nice to see them squeeze all the elements of the song into half the time for television. Their Chicago show last week was, as expected, pretty extraordinary.

  3. Sounds like he’s off the smack…ie HORRIBLE! j/k…pretty good, he must be sober now…ish? Though i’m kinda wondering ‘where’s the baritone sax and orchestral drums?!’
