Just in time to beat the heat, sweaty Australian electro-smelter and ice cream scooper Muscles has a Jaron Albertin-directed video for Guns Babes Lemonade‘s “The Lake.” The clip falls in the current tradition of MGMT’s sexy-girls-who-can-dance “Electric Feel” and Sigur Rós’ NSFW sexy-people-who-can-frolic “Gobbledigook.” For this one, we get folks hopping a fence, stripping to to their underwear for some nightswimming, and transforming a standard backyard pool into some sorta fathomless edenic lake. As the song says, they’re seizing the day. As life says, all edens come to an end.

Guns Babes Lemonade is out via Modular.

Someone gave me this cd with a sticky note that read “I know you like the techno, check this out”. When I put it in and hit play I was confused as to if it was a parody of techno, or this guy really, and truly is taking this shit seriously. A prime example of a track that causes laughing spasms? “One Inch Badge Pin”. Now there’s a song I’d like to see a video for.
