The Jesus and Mary Chain

Scottish noise legends The Jesus And Mary Chain wrapped up their short tour of California last night will a beautifully noisy set at the House Of Blues San Diego. Jim Reid’s voice hasn’t aged and William Reid still can dial up storms of fuzz. It was also a bonus to see Phil King formerly of Lush hold down the bass for the band. Cold Cave crushed the audience with their defragmented synthesizers and local scuzzy punks Phantom Ratio opened. Check out the photos above and the setlist after the jump.

  1. WHO ARE YOU!? I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT THIS “SCUZZY PUNK” IN PARTICULAR ..WAS ONCE THE BASS PLAYER FOR THESE “SCOTTISH NOISE HEROES” AND THAT’S HOW WE GOT THE GIG NOTWITHSTANDING THE FACT THAT MY GOOD FRIEND AND FORMER EMPLOYER J. REID HAPPENS TO LIKE MY SONGS ..THERE’S A GOOD STORY YOU- COULD- HAVE HAD THERE.. AND we ACTUALLY DID A GREAT AND UN-ADULTERATED SET. YOU WILL DEFINITELY BE HEARING MORE OF US UNLESS WE AVOID YOU.. (Have you seen how scuzzy we are not! and that we do not sound!?) DUE TO YOUR CURRENT LACK OF RESPECT AND EXTREMELY SHORT ATTENTION SPAN.. till then. You, Witty pretty Vampire people!
