Stream DIIV 'Oshin'

Brooklyn indie rockers DIIV — FKA Dive — have been picking up momentum in the last year or so, thanks to the strength of dark, soaring rockers like “How Long Have You Known” and “Doused” as well as the band’s huge-sounding live show. Now, the Cole Smith-fronted band’s entire debut is streaming, so have at it below.

  1. One of the albums of the year. Just saying.

  2. hands down, this is the best album of the year!!

    • ^ LIARS!!!

See what I did there… with the…never mind, this CD gets a rating of badass from me as opposed to ass-bad, which is currently reserved for the self-titled Temper Trap record. Some would argue that it is better to spawn hate than indifference. Some is probably a Temper Trap fan. Hate hate hate (So fun, that I can’t help myself).

  3. Cole Smith is an amazing artist, I’ve seen him perform with Beach Fossils and I would love to see him perform with DIIV. Captured Tracks has signed on some great bands such as, Wild Nothing, Blouse and Craft Spells. This year has been an incredible year for new music but DIIV by far is my top band. I am so excited for the album release.

  4. I can’t wait to get my feet wet in the Oshin — Everything I’ve been listening to by this band since their first few tracks to their more “aggressive” ones have not disappointed. DIIV has a formula to their sound that you really can’t go wrong with, and it’s perfect timing for them to take their debut bow given the official start of summer. And let’s not forget a Beach Fossils album will be making its way in time as well!

  5. i couldnt agree more with everything dominique said. that girl is on the ball. that ass-kick dude is a complete douchebag though as his name points out. no one is a temper trap fan and the liars album is whatevs.

    • Yeah, where does he get off? Sorry, but my Temper Trap jabs are meant for my friend, indiecredible, who is a TT fan. It is just a hobby of mine that almost drove my girlfriend crazy (which was just a weird ploy as I later blindsided here with tickets to see them). I, too, thought Temper Trap fans were imaginary like unicorns until I feel in love with one. I guess I have a mild fascination with bands that have connections to “Down Under.”
