Bloc Party In Glasgow

Last night, Bloc Party played their first show in three years, kicking off a world tour to introduce Four, their forthcoming fourth full-length due in August. Seven of the 17 songs performed were new, with titles like “3×3,” “Real Talk,” “Day Four,” “Team A,” and the reportedly fan-favorite “Truth.” Kele Okereke blogged about making the record last month, saying that he spent a year listening to just four records — “led zeppelin 4, deftones white pony, nicki minaj’s mix tape beam me up scotty and al green’s greatest hits” — though based on some of this new stuff it seems like his Gang Of Four and Fall records are never far from memory. Watch clips of “3×3″ and “Team A” below, and check the dates on that three month world tour (including three nights at NYC’s Terminal 5, which is a lot of nights at T5):

  1. What a confusing headline.

  2. “Team A” sounds awesome. Can’t wait to see them at Terminal 5.

  3. I hope that for the new album these guys will finally realize that what they’re exceptional at is being a guitar band, and stop fiddling about with all the electronic stuff.

    • If you’re referring to Intimacy I have to say I couldn’t disagree more. To me, their first two records (a few tracks aside) were just standard indie fare whereas Intimacy was an incredible album, one of my favourites of that year and certainly the only one I still listen to.

  4. They’re still a band?

  5. I’ve really been missing these guys lately
