We’ve already posted three MP3s — Throw Me The Statue’s “If This Is It,” Apostle Of Hustle’s “I Want A New Drug,” and Oh No Oh My!’s “Finally Found A Home” — from the forthcoming Huey Lewis tribute Are You Still With Me?!. It’s a special day when we get to post a song on which Huey Lewis actually appears. Thanks Seth Rogen.

When Team Apatow recruited the pop legend to pen the title track of stoner comedy Pineapple Express (nice poster), the film’s co-writer/star Rogan was said to be hoping for a “Power Of Love” vibe. Now you can stream the result at MySpace.

The movie’s in theaters 8/8. Watch Seth Rogen and James Franco get high likes planes in the trailer.

Looks funnier than Duets.

    “We’ve already post three MP3s”

This is your most sentence ever.

  5. Look, it’s Marty McFly! He’s come back from the year 2008 to tell all of us in 1985 what the future’s like! Hey Marty! What do people listen to in the year 2008?

MARTY: “They listen to Huey Lewis, too—just like us. Except in the future you’ll hear him smoke pot during the instrumental break!”

    You lie, McFly!

  6. the song isn’t great–it’s not as great as power of love, for instance (and nowhere near heart of rock n roll or i wanna new drug), but they definitely got the vibe of power of love. i have a lot of respect for huey lewis and the news and i am impressed that they were able to nearly duplicate their power-of-love era sound, and it’s nice to hear it after all this time has passed.

Rogen is spelled with an E, guys.
I know you’re pumped for the movie, but put the bong down for just a minute to make a coherent post, ok?

If you give it a couple listens, you’ll definitely get hooked on the new song! It’s more like “Back in Time” rather than “Power of Love,” but it still gets you going. Huey & the New have still got it!

Y’know, listenin’ to this new Huey Lewis song gives me an idea why most current radio pop is so bland. Back in the Reagan era, when Huey and the News were big-time, this song or something like it, could’ve gotten by the clueless Silent and Boomer era radio playlist programmers. The wiser X-ers, now in their positions, fearful of their PC bosses and the FCC, won’t let something like this get through, whether you know what the song is talkin’ about or not.

  14. huey lewis and the news are sopposed to be recording new studio album all new songs all new music followup to plan b is it titled yet and is there a release date thanks jon macvean
