Beady Eye’s debut album was pretty good, but let’s face it: It’s no Definitely Maybe. Maybe Liam Gallagher has come to believe this truth, too, because after initially vowing not to play Oasis songs with Beady Eye, the new band is dipping into the old band’s catalog. During their 6/28 show at Parr Hall in Warrington, Beady Eye performed a pair of Noel-penned classics, “Rock ‘N’ Roll Star” and “Morning Glory.” (Why no “Little James,” Liam?) The band also performed a new track, written by Liam, called “The World’s Not Set In Stone.” Check out video footage of “Rock ‘N’ Roll Star” and the new song below.

“Beady Eye’s debut album was pretty good”
Really?!
Yeah! I think so anyway. I don’t consider “pretty good” to be high praise, but it’s definitely not the embarrassment I expected.
are you calling this an “article”? what about Noel after initially vowing not to “sing” Oasis songs originally sung by Liam? and not to play more than 3 Oasis songs? he then played 10, including Supersonic, Whatever, Wonderwall, It’s good to be free, famously sung by Liam, or there would have been half of the people @ Noel’s gigs

And why naming Little James that was a song for a child? I remind you Beady Eye are 4/5 of Oasis, and 3 of them wrote 24 Oasis songs, played in studio and around the world, etc.
I named “Little James” because it’s a Liam song, and I was sort of rhetorically suggesting that he recognizes that his songs aren’t as good as Noel’s songs. But I think he’s grown as a writer since then; Beady Eye is definitely his best songwriting IMO.

it’s hard to respect an American idiot.
Is that message sponsored by Green Day?
I can’t comment on the album since I haven’t listened to it, but I can say the chorus in “Standing on the Edge of the Noise” is a blatant ripe-off of the Beatles’ “Get Back.”
oh so you must have a deep knowledge… a music expert. If you can’t comment, just don’t comment. Should we talk about how many Noel’s songs are a baltant ripe-off of not only the Beatles, but all the musicians he copied from? I remind you Noel is the “artist” who had to pay the most money for copying in music history. Oh but you expert surely know…

OK, you need to settle down.
First, I can comment on the song because I’ve heard it before. I cannot, and did not, comment on the album because I haven’t heard it all the way through.
Second, I am well aware that Noel ripped off the Beatles as well. What I don’t understand is where you’re coming from. You apparently think I’m making some kind of Team Noel/Team Liam argument. Trust me, I’m not. I’m simply pointing out something that is quite obvious.
Third, please show me the part where I claimed to be an “expert.”
Fourth, I pity you… you must live in another world. Oh Oakland university supporting Chelsea. Enough said. Good luck
oh so you disagree with Noel Gallagher who repeated he likes Beady Eye very much? “the Roller a fucking number one single”, Gem playing better than him, Liam stil has a great voice, etc. or maybe they were just some of a thousand lies he told?
So can we now just admit that Beady Eye is the country’s second best Oasis tribute band (behind Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, obvs)?

There only appears to be one person here who may or may not have his or her tongue in the butt of a former Oasis member
I love how every time Stereogum posts anything Oasis-related, the Oasis fanatics come out of the woodwork to talk about the greatest band in the universe. If only Stereogum would start posting stuff about Darius Rucker, I could have some real fun sniping at the holdout Hootie fans…
Gonna be tough. I think they all still use AOL dial-up.
We’ll surely miss you. Such a pity, you were looking good with that beard of a caveman coming out of the woodwork listening to Michael Jackson, that’s the best you can do: sodomising kids.
What is this supposed to mean?
There only appears to be one person here who surely had her tongue in the butt of a former man, Nick Degel
wow so many minuses… this must be an illuminated website of superior brains. We’ll surely visit it more often… maybe next time in a few years.
Yeah, you better stay in 1994 until then :-)
