Micachu & The Shapes - Never

UK deconstructionistic pop troupe Micachu & The Shapes are set to release Never, the followup to the excellent Jewellry, next week via Rough Trade. We’ve sampled “OK,” and now the entire set is freely streaming. It’s playfully inventive and whimsically arty! Listen:

Never is out 7/23 via Rough Trade. Catch ’em 7/28 at the MoMA WarmUp in LIC.

  1. So everyone agrees this is fantastic, right?

  2. Okay, I’m buying this.

  3. After really sinking my teeth into this album, I think I can say it’s one of my favourites released this year so far. I personally prefer it to Jewellery, and love how the band plays with noises, textures and harmonies here. Favourite tracks: Low Dogg, Holiday, Nothing, Heaven, and Easy.

Also pretty neat is that there are official music videos for every track up on Micachu’s youtube channel. The videos are pretty clever, and thanks to them I could finally figure out the lyrics to half these songs.
