Goldenvoice now insists that you buy in for all three days of its Indio fest, saying “single- and two-day people are clogging up the hotels and making it so people who want to go for three days can’t find a hotel.” On the flip, camping prices are down. (At least all three days look great this year.) More at LA Times.

Goldenvoice now insists that you buy in for all three days of its Indio fest, saying “single- and two-day people are bla bla bla we want more money and don’t care if it’s inconvenient to you”.
If by “all three days look great” you mean “Friday looks like a shitty Brooklyn Vegan DJ set,” but I’ll be there regardless.
This is mind-numbingly stupid. I, for one, have already reserved my hotel and made arrangements for two days and if I can’t buy single tickets then I will just cancel my hotel before the deadline, which will still make it hard for people to plan to come. It’s just greed, plain and simple.
Bonnaroo has done it like this for years.
Bonnaroo is the biggest and best music festival in North America.
Therefore Goldenvoice has made the right decision.
don’t forget most expensive
By $10, and that’s if you buy the tickets on the last price tier. I’ve already gotten my Bonnaroo 2010 ticket for $220. Also let’s keep in mind Bonnaroo lasts an entire day longer than Coachella.
The vastly superior Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival includes a camping spot with every ticket (as opposed to paying $55 to camp at Coach). Also, you can drink your beer wherever you like at Bonnaroo.
Coachella is enforcing a 2 am noise curfew in the campgrounds. That’s laughable. At Bonnaroo, acts are going well past 4 am, with campsite parties and other activities in Centeroo lasting literally all night.
It’s in an entirely different league.
Hmm. I wonder if that would mean “secondary” festival like Sasquatch! will get more demand this year or will they follow suit too?
Sasquatch has had a better lineup than Coachella the last few years anyway. It might even be a better festival than Bonnaroo since it’s not in a Hillbillie’s backyard…
All I know, is that Sasquatch! is gonna be awesome. Again.
ahh I didn’t want to go Friday. oh well, I’m still going. damn good lineup this year.
you can drink your beer wherever you like at Bonnaroo.
THAT says it all. Bonnaroo is indeed superior.
