Field Report - Field Report

Chris Porterfield, aka Field Report, came up with Justin Verson and the dudes from Megafaun in the band DeYarmond Edison way back. After DYE split, Vernon holed up and wrote For Emma, Forever Ago; Brad Cook, Phil Cook, and Joe Westerlund formed Megafaun; and Porterfield started writing the music that would eventually turn up on Field Report’s debut LP, recorded at Vernon’s studio, and due out in September. “Chico, The American” is the fourth song we’ve heard from Field Report, a dusky, dark Americana ballad, much more direct than what we’re used to from DeYarmond alums. Check it out.

Field Report is due 9/11 via Partisan. For more, check out “I Am Not Waiting Anymore,” “Fergus Falls,” and “Taking Alcatraz.”
