Hear A Clip Of A New Gorillaz Song With (What Sounds Like) Little Dragon

By Amrit Singh / February 3, 2010

Gorillaz took the spirit of Kraftwerk (and the voices of Bobby Womack and Mos Def) to the disco on “Stylo,” and now the band’s animated bassist Murdoc is offering little snippets of Plastic Beach via a “pirate radio” session for AOL. Between songs from the likes of Brian Wilson and DJ patter, Murdoc revealed a bit of an appropriately beachy song he titled “Pink Stinkfish,” before backing off that track title. Which would make sense, because there is no “Pink Stinkfish” listed on its tracklist. Whatever it’s called, the vocal does sound like that belonging to Sweden’s Little Dragon, who are listed on its tracklist (twice). Listen:

If we’re right, by the song list below, it could be either “Empire Ants” and “To Binge.” Because it sounds like Little Dragon, but also because it doesn’t sound like any of these other cameo bros (who are in fact all bros). Take note:

01 “Orchestral Intro” (Feat. sinfonia ViVA)
02 “Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach” (Feat. Snoop Dogg and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble)
03 “White Flag” (Feat. Kano, Bashy and The Lebanese National Orchestra for Oriental Arabic Music)
04 “Rhinestone Eyes”
05 “Stylo” (Feat. Bobby Womack and Mos Def)
06 “Superfast Jellyfish” (Feat. Gruff Rhys and De La Soul)
