San Diego indie duo Pinback have been away for a while, but they return this fall with Information Retrieved, their first album since 2007. Earlier this year, they released “True North,” one of its songs, as a Record Store Day single. I agree. The style of “indie” that was prevalent during the early-mid-2000s is sounding revitalized with returns from bands like Pinback, and as you said, their timing is great. A little time away helps you appreciate what that you’ve been missing when getting acquainted with other new sounds.
