Earlier this year, the former Pearls & Brass drummer Daughn Gibson hit the radar with his solo debut All Hell, which found him, basically, singing old-school country in a miles-deep voice over twinkly self-produced electronics. That’s a rare combination, and it’s one that got him noticed — so much so that Sub Pop has just signed Gibson. And Gibson is celebrating his new label home with his new song “Reach Into The Fire,” a pretty track that samples songs from his new labelmates Shabazz Palaces and Tiny Vipers. Listen to it below.
Gibson’s Sub Pop debut is coming sometime next year. Meanwhile, All Hell is out now on White Denim.
