No Doubt - "Push And Shove"

Here’s another new single from the reunited No Doubt, the Push And Shove title track which the group premiered today on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. Diplo is along for the ride and the producer instills some energy into the anthem. Bassist Tony Kanal: “It’s our ’Bohemian Rhapsody’” (via RS). Any way the wind blows, I guess. Stream it below.

Push And Shove is out 9/25 on Interscope.

  1. Not terrible, but do not get how this in any way resembles Bohemian Rhapsody.

    • Agree with not getting how this resembles BR, disagree about it not being terrible.

    • No. I believe the correct quote is, “this is OUR Bohemian Rhapsody.” Not, “this SOUNDS like Bohemian Rhapsody.” Bohemian Rhapsody is characterized by a song that switches up tempo quite often and doesn’t keep a constant beat and lyrical composition to the track. This is what this song does for No Doubt, as Bohemian Rhapsody did for Queen.The chorus comes way out of left field. Just when you think you’re listening to one song, you start listening to another. I don’t know really what to think about it. I was hoping for something a little bit more rock, but this is probably one of the most technically unbalanced No Doubt songs I’ve ever heard. It’s a bit chaotic. Like BR, in No Doubt’s own style.

  2. No, just… No.

  3. Seriously Diplo?

  4. Also this stream sounds like pure sh**…

  5. Can some please explain why Diplo is “approved” and other EDM producers aren’t? I don’t like any of them, TBH, but it feels like a double standard to me.

    • You mean a “diplo-standard.”

    • “paper planes,” major lazer, “climax”… maybe even give him some credit for mad decent releases, like zebra katz’s “ima read.” i’m not saying the guy doesn’t make shitty bieber songs too, but how else is he gonna afford to go to jamaica every week

      [p.s. if diplo's criticized for dilettantism, at least his productions are less homogeneous than, say, guetta's. e.g. das racist - you can sell anything, nicky da b - express yourself, beyonce - end of time, iggy azalea - i think she ready, about 1000 remixes...]

  6. I thought maybe they could have come up with a good song for once after a break? Still crap!

  7. No doubt about it, Stereogum is the #1 site for all the latest No Doubt news!

  8. It ain’t no Tragic Kingdom, Rock Steady or Return of Saturn…

    ::sigh::

  9. Damn people are hating on this pretty heavy here. I thought it was pretty good. It bangs.

  10. This is our ‘insert any song ever made here’. Would’ve made just as much sense.
