Way the hell back in 2008, Black Moth Super Rainbow member Tobacco remixed the Black Keys stomper “I Got Mine,” giving it a stuttering psych-rap makeover. That remix was never released, and Tobacco eventually mined its parts and turned it into his own track “Super Gum.” (That video, I should point out, is entirely NSFW.) Today, though, that remix found its way to the internet, and you can hear it below.

I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion or what, but I’d argue that the remix is better than either the Black Keys original song or the Tobacco track that it eventually became.

  2. not to jump on the self-promo train, but our band covered “i got mine” and I feel like the stereogummers would dig it.

    “nice story, bro”

  3. Good stuff. Can’t wait for Tobaxx’s new stuff with BMSR, Demon Queen, and solo stuff.

  4. It’s one of the better rock remixes I’ve heard, but to say that it is better than the original is just ridiculous. For one thing, they’re hardly similar, plus you’re wrong.
Sorry for being so blunt, but someone had to say it.

    • this is better than the original. i hate that “i got mine” has become the go-to set closer for the black keys. not that thrilling of a song.
