Joey Bada$$ - Rejex

Joey Bada$$ is a teenage Brooklyn rapper (and BTW alum) who is almost shockingly skilled in the ways of mid-’90s New York underground rappity-rap. A couple of months ago, he released his 1999 mixtape, which we promptly named Mixtape Of The Week. And today, he offers up a new tape, alluringly titled Rejex, of tracks that didn’t quite make the 1999 cut. The tape includes raps over beats from rap-fundamentalist heroes like MF Doom, Lord Finesse, and Madlib, and you can download it for free here.

  1. For being a mixtape of throw aways, this is pretty damn good.

  2. I don’t even see the point of referring to these as “rejex” cause this a pretty cohesive collection. Kid is seriously one of the best things out right now and not to be slept on.

If anyone else is digging the throw back sound, check out The Underachievers who drop their debut mixtape INDIGOI.S.M. on the 11th.
