Preview Kanye West's "To The World" (Feat. R. Kelly)

When the tracklist for G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer hit last week, something that immediately got me sweating out of excitement was the leadoff pairing of Chicagoans Kanye and R. Kelly for a track called “To The World.” Now, a short preview — which contains Kels’ quotable, epic hook — has popped up online. And I gotta say, Kels steps up so magnificently that it’s straight up anti-climactic when Kanye comes in; “The whole world is a couch / And bitch I’m Rick James tonight,” Kels sings, pretty much telling everyone to fuck off. Since it’s early, I don’t want to go on the record and say that it’s more memorable than My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’s grand “CAN WE GET MUCH HIGHER?” intro, but, it’s close. With “Clique” in the fold, the bar for this record is set high. Listen at Fake Shore Drive.

UPDATE: Listen to clips of all the Cruel Summer tracks at iTunes.

  1. I really, really like the sound of that Cudi song.

  2. Man, this album is going to be a disappointment. Maybe I shouldn’t have had high expectations in the first place.

  3. Wow, Kels is really jockin the dream on this. sounds good, but how would he like it if people starting pissing on girls. takes time to craft a style…

  4. The most disappointing Kanye album ever… Not happy with this one…he should’ve waited , maybe should’ve released a solo album before….this album seems like it was just thrown together…stemmed from lack of motivation

  5. I heard a sample of the whole album and it’s so disappointing that Kanye made a crappy album, full of shit any song has a cool vibe, the whole album sounds really boring, I don’t what Kanye thinks but if he doesn’t re-produce the album totally he’ll make a fool of himself and his album will fly under the radar.

  6. yeah everything from this album has fallen short for me- totally obsessed with kanye too- its not a solo album so i can understand the wackness to a degree- but shit- anything with 2 chainz on it more than once just pushes me away- we’ll have to wait til 2013/14 for some real new shit from kanye…

  7. Bros, you gots to chill. This is an album of posse cuts – ye doesn’t need to shine on this one because he would blind all these muhhfukkas. Don’t forget your boy dropped the best albums of whatever year his albums came out.

Take theraflu and mercy – theraflu is cold as hell. classic ye. mercy, his verse is a little weak, but it lets us better appreciate moments of goodness from the normally SHITE lil seanjohn and 2 chainz killer verse.

This is a solid album, except for kudi who sounds like he’s too far gone at this point.
