New Fumes - "Moonchild"

For a while now, the Flaming Lips have been kicking around the idea of recording a full-length tribute to King Crimson’s 1969 prog-rock classic In The Court Of The Crimson King, and now it sure looks like it’s happening. The band has teamed up once again with New Fumes, their “Girl, You’re So Weird” collaborators, to record their own version of King Crimson’s 12-minute epic “Moonchild.” Download the cover below.

No further word yet on an In The Court Of The Crimson King tribute yet, but it sure looks like it’s happening.

  1. Hey, The Future Heart here…
Just want to let everyone know that not only is the “In the Court of The Crimson King” full LP remake definitely happening, it’s almost completely mixed and ready to be mastered. It’s spearheaded by Wayne Coyne and features Stardeath and White Dwarfs, Linear Downfall, Space Face, and, of course, New Fumes. The tracklist and full details is here:

Those of you in the Dallas area can see New Fumes with Twin Shadow tonight at Trees.

Just want to let everyone know that not only is the “In the Court of The Crimson King” full LP remake definitely happening, it’s almost completely mixed and ready to be mastered. It’s spearheaded by Wayne Coyne though (contrary to the impression he’s created in several recent interviews) it features Stardeath and White Dwarfs, Linear Downfall, and, of course, New Fumes – not The Flaming Lips per se. Wayne sings on this and “Epitaph” – which also has Steven Drozd playing on it. The tracklist and full details is here:

  3. Also… watch the recording sessions for all songs on the Crimson remake at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gMMaV_sMxQ

Those of you in the Dallas area can see New Fumes (who will probably have two tracks of the King Crimson album) with Twin Shadow tonight at Trees…
