In some weird stoner-rap confluence, today the internet gets two Creative Control-directed videos of rap songs produced by beatmaker-of-the-moment Harry Fraud. There’s the video for Curren$y’s “Leaving The Dock,” a track from his Harry Fraud-produced Cigarette Boats EP, which is pretty if standard low-budget luxury-rap stuff. And then there’s the awesomely cartoonish clip for Smoke DZA’s “Kenny Powers,” which literalizes the “chase the chicken” line from the chorus so it’s about a dude chasing an actual man-sized chicken through Harlem. It also has lots of fish-eye lens. It’s great. Watch it below.
DZA’s strong Fraud-produced album Rugby Thompson is out now on High Times.
