Memory Tapes - Grace/Confusion

Dayve Hawk’s Memory Tapes project will put out a new record next year, and today he’s letting go of the first single, a throbbing, heady, 8-minute jam called “Sheila.” It’s sort of all over the place. Hear it below.

Grace/Confusion is out 12/4 on Carpark.

  1. Well this sounds like a promising return to form. :) I loved Seek Magic, but wow his sophomore album was forgettable (I’ve already forgotten the name of it). Glad to see he’s moving on rather quickly.

    • agreed, Seek Magic was very very important to me, and “Player Piano” (oh yeah, THAT’S what it was called!) was not very good.

So I was ready to be let down here, and it’s not GREAT, but it’s definitely promising.

      • I don’t think Player Piano was half bad. Seek Magic was definitely better, but “Wait In The Dark,” “Today Is Our Life” and “Sun Hits” were all on par with the best of Seek Magic in my opinion. It was the inconsistency that really brought Player Piano down in my opinion.
