Peter Gabriel

It was a special evening at the Hollywood Bowl as Peter Gabriel revisited hisclassic album So by playing the album in its entirety. Original collaborators Tony Levin on bass, David Rhodes on guitar, Manu Katché on drums, David Sancious on keyboards, and new additions Jennie Abrahamson and Linnea Olsson on background vocals, beautifully recreated the intricate sonic layers of such tracks as “Red Rain,” “Big Time,” and “Sledgehammer.” Since it was Hollywood, John Cusack made a special appearance to drop off a boombox on stage for Gabriel to hold aloft during “In Your Eyes.” Check out the photos above, and the setlist — plus video footage of Cusack’s cameo — below.

  1. Great show! Great visuals, strong performance- it was really great. Andrew- if you can find footage of the opening performer covering Thom Yorke’s “Atoms for Peace,” through that up- it was a solid acoustic cover with piano and cello.
