Next week, Death Cab leader Ben Gibbard releases his solo debut Former Lives, an album of his songs that didn’t quite fit the Death Cab mode. We’ve already heard a handful of them: “Teardrop Windows,” “Something’s Rattling (Cowpoke),” the Aimee Mann duet “Bigger Than Love.” And now the entire LP is streaming as one big 37-minute YouTube chunk. Hear it below.
Former Lives is out 10/16 via Barsuk.

yikes.
Pleasantly surprised.
He wasn’t kidding when he said it was a “mixed bag”.
That album cover is shockingly bad…

Much like everything else Gibbard has done in the past 8 or so years, I was mildly excited for this to be released, but now I find myself struggling to care that it exists.
