Passion Pit on SNL

This past weekend, Passion Pit passed yet another career milestone, serving as musical guests on the Christina Applegate-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live. The band played two tunes from their new Gossamer: “Take A Walk” and “Carried Away.” They looked pretty comfortable throughout, and their crisp and chipper synth-rock somehow made it past SNL’s notoriously awful sound engineers without sounding like total mud.

Frontman Michael Angelakos has been busy with the media lately. He also recently showed up on the public-radio music talk show Sound Opinions, playing stripped-down solo-piano renditions of Passion Pit’s songs “Constant Conversations” and “Sleepyhead.” Watch the SNL and Sound Opinions performances below.

  1. Only saw “Take a Walk,” but I thought they sounded pretty good, and I liked what’s his name’s raspier vocals.
