Sufjan Stevens - "Mr. Frosty Man" Video

Next week, Sufjan Stevens drops his Christmas-music EP box set Silver & Gold: Songs For Christmas. And even though his seasonal slopfest “Mr. Frosty Man” isn’t the best Christmas song you’re ever likely to hear, credit it with being the inspiration and basis for director Lee Hardcastle’s ridiculous claymation video, which involves Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus, and a horde of ravenous radioactive zombies. I don’t know if I could call it NSFW, but it is just incredibly gruesome in that classic Evil Dead gore-slapstick way. Watch it below.

Silver & Gold: Songs For Christmas is out 11/13 on Asthmatic Kitty.

  1. Anyone else think that Sufjan is losing his mind?

    • Sufjan has a tendency to be really delicate and precious with his work. For that reason alone, he almost gave up his music career. He has to let go and have fun with it sometimes; noodle around and do something silly. It’s all brilliant anyways, so why not let him go bananas every once and a while?

      • That all makes sense except the giving up his music career part. Age of Adz was delicately fashioned and very perfectionist + maximalist, and I personally think it’s a masterpiece. If anything I think his delicateness is what will make him a legend. Hopefully.

  2. Loving all this crazy new Sufjan stuff.

  3. Ummm Sufjan has always been crazy…
