Fiona Apple contributes a track called “Dull Tool” to the new Judd Apatow film This Is 40, and over the weekend it popped up on MTV Brazil. It’s a dense song lush with instrumentation, where Apple sings, “You don’t kiss when you kiss / You don’t fuck when you fuck.” Hear it below.
This Is 40 OST is out 12/11.

LOL
LAWLLLLLLLLL
Making music for a movie soundtrack is totally OK, but…why Judd Apatow, Fiona Apple? Just…why? A guy who’s only good contribution to the world out of the many abominations he has had his hands in is Freaks and Geeks?
Why you gotta do him like that that, Wesley?
Judd Apatow’s not THAT bad. Hell, a lot of bands I like have appeared on those Twilight soundtracks. That’s way less respectable.
I don’t know, man. I’d rather support Stephanie Meyer than Judd Apatow. That’s how deep my hatred runs.
That.
Deep.
hahaha okay. I understand that kind of hatred. I will stay out of your way.
It’s a good song. I’ll probably listen to it again!
There is nothing like Fiona to sum up everything you really feel about a nagging relationship. Well done, Fiona.
