The National

Lately, the National seem to be intent on forcing their way into every show on our collective DVR. Earlier today, we posted their cover of the Bob’s Burgers Thanksgiving song. And a few months ago, they contributed a song called “The Rains Of Castamere” to the Game Of Thrones soundtrack. And now they’ve gone period-specific with a song that appeared on last night’s episode of Boardwalk Empire. With a cover of Isham Jones And The Ray Miller Orchestra’s 1924 jazz tune “I’ll See You In My Dreams,” they leave behind moody indie rock and go full-on swing. Hear their version of the song below.

  1. Thank you! I was sure I was listening to Matt Berninger during the credits, but couldn’t find confirmation anywhere.

  2. Funny. I thought it was Lyle Lovett.

  3. I would take an album’s worth of this.

  4. This is pretty great although I wish they’d get it together and put out a new album.
