Wayne Coyne Radio Show

Here’s another thing that Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne can cross off of his increasingly insane to-do list: Record an hour-long radio drama about the human-head-shaped tumor on the inside of his leg. Coyne teamed up with McSweeney’s, KCRW, and producer Richard Parks to put together the show, entitled Wayne Coynes Human Head Shaped Tumor. It’s a continuous narrative in the style of Orson Welles’s War Of The Worlds, and it features appearances and new music from a deeply impressive cast: Grizzly Bear’s Ed Droste, Bill Callahan, Okkervil River’s Will Sheff, the Fiery Furnaces Eleanor Friedberger, Oneida’s Fat Bobby and Kid Millions, composer Nico Muhly, comedian Paul F. Tomkins, and the Lips themselves. The show aired yesterday and the day before on KCRW, and now you can stream the entire ridiculous thing below.
