T.I. - "Sorry"

André 3000 barely ever raps anymore, but he has a rare knack for showing up two or three times a year and melting your entire brain. Case in point: “Sorry,” an absolutely gorgeous new six-minute song with T.I., from Tip’s new Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head album. It’s an excellent song before André even shows up, with T.I. going all oil-slick double-time over some orchestrally dense soul-rap shit (produced by Jazze Pha, of all people). And then André jumps on the back of the song and just blows the doors off, managing to be humble and confessional and tough and and insanely confident all at once. So yeah: Good song. Between this and Big Boi’s absolutely banging “In The A,” the two members of OutKast are having an exceptional 24 hours. Listen to “Sorry” below.

Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head is out 12/16 on Grand Hustle/Atlantic, and it has excellent cover art.

  2. Goddamn, Andre.

  3. Just now caught that line about Andre apologizing to Big Boi about “fucking up the tours”. Could T.I. be their reconciliation counselor?

  4. I second: “Goddamn, Andre.”

  5. T.I. goin to win album of the year
