The Mary Onettes’ forthcoming third album, Hit The Waves (produced by Dan Lissvik of the wonderful and sincerely missed STUDIO), is definitely one of my most-anticipated first-quarter 2013 releases — I talked about it in detail when I wrote about the album’s lead single, “Evil Coast,” a couple weeks back. Now, that song has a video. I maintain that the beachfront imagery is counterintuitive here — the morbid, pale Swedish band makes distinctively morbid, pale Swedish music — but on this brutally gross, slushy, near-winter NYC afternoon, it’s not unwelcome. Check it out.
Hit The Waves is out 3/12 via Labrador.

OMG, it was filmed in Brasil. I spotted São Paulo as one of the locations. =)
This band is amazing, but I don’t understand why is it now that it’s getting the attention of the media. Their previous albums were very good. So why now and not 3 years ago? Anyways, can’t wait for the album too.
