Broadcast - Berberian Sound Studio

British post-rock band Broadcast were recording the soundtrack to the Warp film Berberian Sound Studio — an homage to 1970s Italian horror movies — when vocalist Trish Keegan passed away in 2011 at age 42. The band — now down to original bassist James Cargill — is said to be working on a new album featuring vocals recorded by Keegan prior to her death. But for now, we’ve got Berberian Sound Studio. We first heard a song from the album, “The Equestrian Vortex,” last October. But now, NPR is streaming the whole thing. Check it out.

Berberian Sound Studio is out 1/8 via Warp.

  1. this is so awesome. good to hear new stuff from Broadcast. RIP Trish!

  2. It makes perfect sense to include Broadcast in the returnal of the Giallo genre. The soundtrack is great, I have yet to see the movie though. The plot looks extremely intriguing and enticing.
