Later this year, Raekwon will uphold the great Wu-Tang ridiculous-anagram tradition when he releases his new album F.I.L.A. (Fly International Luxurious Art). Until then, though, he’s holding us over by giving us a free EP that revives rap’s even older dubious-spelling tradition. It’s called Lost Jewlry, and at 12 tracks long, it’s not exactly an EP. I’m not going to tell Raekwon he’s wrong, though. Freddie Gibbs, Maino, and Faith Evans guest, and though the EP is a long way away from being prime Rae, there are still some intricately constructed rappity-raps here. I think F.I.L.A. is an acronym and not an anagram (I’m just pedantic enough to notice, not to check).
You are not alone. Because I suck at anagrams and instantly started rearranging the letters in the album title before realizing he meant acronym.
