    • What’s pretty funny about nearly all of the music site / blog “assets” consumed by BUZZ Media is that they all established themselves as players in the indie blog world during the early – mid 2000s by people who genuinely wanted to change music information and give the independent scene a voice against the generic consumer machine. They weren’t worried about ads, pandering off contests to gain traffic or compromising their content because of who was footing the bill behind keeping them online — They were simply introducing new music by young bands to the world with no regard for mixing it in with suit-and-tie business.

Several years, here we are, and these same guys have sold off or partnered up their sites with a huge corporate so that millions of dollars can comfortably line their wallets and put the formula in the baby bottles, because at the end of the day, they don’t care about music — They care about looking out for #1, which isn’t music but they themselves only. They’ve made a huge buck off the culture of music that put them on the map (not the other way around.) They’ve become the exact thing they set out to combat in the first place.

  2. My most anticipated album of 2013, aside from Merchandise obviously, is the new Bleached LP!

  3. Can’t help how excited I am for Local Natives Hummingbird. Hope I am not building it up too much. Fingers crossed that I get to see Merchandise next week!

  8. This is boring, but there’s no question that the one album that has most potential to ruin me in all the best ways is this My Bloody Valentine – you know, the one we’ve been teased with for far too long.

  9. Iceage – You’re Nothing

  10. Despite releasing albums every year (at least), I’m anticipating the next one by Thee Oh Sees, because their live show is the best and I’m hoping and betting they can equal it on record.
