We’ve already heard the Lindstrøm remix, and now here’s the squirm-inducing video for Grizzly Bear’s Shields song “gun-shy.” Kris Moyes directs the video, and shows the band in all sorts of body-horror situations: Eyes melting, skin bubbling, veins jumping. There’s a part about toenails that seriously queased me right out. And yet Moyes films everything in gorgeous bucolic early-evening light in the middle of verdant woods, its beauty making all these medical tricks somehow harder to turn away from. Watch it below.
Shields is out now on Warp.

This is the most gif-able music video I’ve ever seen. It’s also beautiful and icky.
I wonder if there’s one guy in the band who’s always like, “Hey guys how about we don’t make a weird video this time” and then they hold him down and tweeze hairs out of his head.
