Clipse’s Pusha T has been crewed up with Kanye for a few years now, and he can always be counted on to throw a fiercely no-nonsense verse on somebody else’s track in a pinch, but he’s still engaged in a long process of figuring out a solo-artist identity. His new mixtape is called Wrath Of Caine, and more than any of his other solo projects, this one is loaded with big-name collabs. We’ve already posted “Millions,” his single with Rick Ross, but the tape also features French Montana and Wale, as well as production from Young Chop, Harry Fraud, Jake One, and old buddies the Neptunes. Still, on first listen, it’s heavier on the flat and turgid drug-dealer stuff than I’d like, considering that he’s not bringing the same energy and linguistic inventiveness as he had back in his Clipse days. Give it a listen below.
