Bat For Lashes

Valentine’s Day being this week and all, Vogue is running a series of videos that show artists performing their love songs. That, in and of itself, isn’t big news at all, and it probably wouldn’t warrant a post, except for this: Both of the videos in the series thus far are really good. Yesterday, Widowspeak did a meditative, Mazzy Star-esque version of their recent single “Thick As Thieves.” And today, we get Bat For Lashes doing a very different arrangement of her The Haunted Man single “Marilyn“: A spare, clanging, fuzzed-out electric guitar take on the song. Both performances are well worth your time, and you can watch them below.

Bat For Lashes’ The Haunted Man is out now on Capitol, and Widowspeak’s Almanac is out now on Captured Tracks.

  1. Very nice all around, but also so many <3s for that rendition of Marilyn.

  2. I find it interesting that someone took a lot of time to make a professional video yet didn’t mic the guitar (Widowspeak). Still good though.
