Sigur Rós 2013

“2013 promises to be an interesting year in the Sigur Rós universe,” wrote the Icelandic band on their website last week, in a note announcing that they’d be unveiling new material across Europe soon. “Coming to a show is the only way you’re going to experience this stuff outside crappy Youtube clips in the coming months,” they wrote. Now, some of those YouTube clips have finally surfaced. Below, check out videos posted by fans from shows last week. Sigur Rós play three new ones: “Kveikur,” “Yfirborð,” & “Hrafntinna.” After the videos are all tour dates.

  1. Love the first one and the third one. Both sound different than the usual sigur ros song, and yet are still unmistakably their songs. The third one actually sounds like a more fleshed out version of something that could have been on valtari. The second one sounds like a more upbeat Valtari song, but doesn’t immediately strike me. All three will be good to hear mixed into sets.

  2. Here is a good quality audio recording of the entire show @ Coliseu do Porto
