Laura Stevenson’s next record Wheel is out April 23 via Don Giovanni Records. Below, hear “L-DOPA,” a 6-minute track marked by gorgeous strings and Stevenson’s slow, crushing lyricism. You can also hear the previously released single “Runner,” also set to appear on the new album, which Stevenson says is “an album brimming with life and death in the desperate search for what keeps us turning in the face of doubt, an exercise in coming to terms with the overwhelming beauty that can be found in the lack of an answer.” On “L-DOPA,” the aforementioned strings are played by Rob Moose (Bon Iver, Antony And The Johnsons) and Kelly Pratt (Beirut, Arcade Fire, David Byrne and St. Vincent) plays trumpets and flugelhorn.
