As Phosphorescent, the Brooklyn-based Alabama transplant Matthew Houck makes dusty-but-ebullient roots-rock that feels warm and dusty and lived-in, lighter on old-timey affectations than the stuff many of his peers are making. Phosphorescent’s new album Muchacho is about to arrive, and we’ve already posted its luminous and surprisingly synthy “Song For Zula.” Hear the rest of it below.
