John Vanderslice - Diamond Dogs

For reasons presumably unrelated to Davie Bowie’s triumphant recent reemergence, the veteran indie singer-songwriter and studio rat John Vanderslice has covered Bowie’s stone-classic 1974 album Diamond Dogs in full. Through Kickstarter, Vanderslice is crowdfunding the release of that Diamond Dogs cover, as well as Dagger Beach, his own new album. Vanderslice has already more than tripled his Kickstarter goal, with time left to go, so rest assured that both records will arrive this spring. And below, you can watch Vanderslice’s Kickstarter video and download his sleepy, diffuse take on the Diamond Dogs track “Big Brother.”

  1. Nice. Been following this Kickstarter since it was announced (and have thrown in for the vinyl of each). Vanderslice, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated songwriters currently producing music.

  2. Burke, we may as well be the same person. I, very well, could have written the same post without seeing yours.
