Sigur Ros on Fallon

Sigur Rós played Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night. It was the Icelandic trio’s first television performance in nearly ten years. The band — along with string and horn players — debuted a new song, the title track to their recently announced forthcoming LP Kveikur. The new record is out June 18th via XL Recordings, and following its release, Sigur Rós will embark on a world tour. Watch the video below and read on for all tour dates.

  1. I don’t have anything useful to say, but I thought that this was a pretty awesome song and performance and that it deserved at least one comment… so, um, here’s a comment.

I haven’t been excited about Sigur Rós in years, but I’m really looking forward to this album. From what I’ve heard of the new stuff that’s been trickling out, it seems like the band got a huge jolt of emotional energy sometime since the release of Valtari.

  2. Good glory I loved it.

  3. Wow. Awesome, but I’d expect nothing less.
