Alec Baldwin

This is only just occurring to me now, but a conversation between Jack Donaghy and Thom Yorke could’ve been the greatest thing ever — Donaghy telling Yorke that the pay-what-you-want model could be the death of capitalism and, thus, the world, and informing him that his ponytail makes him look like an out-of-work ex-hippie stockbroker from 1987. It’s not quite the same thing, but Yorke did recently serve as a guest on Here’s The Thing, the WNYC radio show that Alec Baldwin, the man who played Donaghy on 30 Rock, hosts. That episode of the show is an hour-long conversation between the whiskey-voiced actor and the Radiohead frontman, and you can hear it below.

Amok, the debut album from Yorke’s band Atoms For Peace, is out now on XL.

  1. Someone needs to loop 8:10-8:30.

  2. This was great! Baldwin took a refreshing and cerebral angle to the interview. He tried his best to interview Thom Yorke as the musician rather than Thom the lead singer of Radiohead.
That quite possibly may have made no sense, but regardless, it worth a listen if your a fan of either men or both.

  3. that was fun.

  4. “Royal Tenenbaum bought the house on Archer Avenue in the winter of his thirty-fifth year.”
