Savages

Yesterday on her BBC Radio 6 show, Mary Anne Hobbs premiered a new Savages track from the band’s forthcoming full-length debut, Silence Yourself. The song is called “No Face” and in order to hear it, you’ll have to head to the BBC Radio 6 Music site for the program here and skip to an hour and twelve minutes into the show. It’s well worth the effort. “I think Savages make me remember what this is really all about,” Hobbs says while introducing the track. “Not just music, but life.” “No Face” kicks in at 1:13:00. In case you missed it, check out the video for “Shut Up” below as well.

Silence Yourself is out 5/7 via Pop Noire/Matador.

  1. Quite excited for this album.

  2. I liked them until I saw the poem on their album cover. Ugh.

For such a preachy band, though, their marketing sure is slick. “Shut Up” looks like a Bon Jovi video.
