Arctic Monkeys - "Do I Wanna Know?"

Arctic Monkeys apparently haven’t gotten that whole stoner-rock thing out of their system yet. “Do I Wanna Know?,” the band’s new single, rides a souped-up fuzz-rock riff, and it seems custom-designed for high-school parking-lot bong-rip sessions. The band shared the new song this morning, pairing it with a lightly psychedelic animated video that features lots of wav-forms and almost-naked cartoon women. Check it out below.

“Do I Wanna Know?” is out on iTunes right now, and there’s apparently an Arctic Monkeys album coming later this year.

  1. This song is awesome. Between this and R U Mine, I really like the direction they are going, which seems kind of like like a tighter version of Humbug.

  2. queens of the stone age’s first single was animated as well, it seems the 2 bands are working closely with each other.

  3. Matt groenig would be proud

  4. As a staunch defender of any poser or professional pretender – ugh, lame Arctic Monkeys reference – but as a staunch defender of AM’s evolution and a general lover of everything they’ve put out, I find this to be kind of boring. Still looking forward to the album though.

  5. I feel like, at least here in the States, the Monkeys are following a similar career arch as the Black Keys have been. They’ve been releasing solid album after solid album and constantly touring in support of each album. I think either this coming album or the next one could be their “Brothers”, and they could really see a kick in popularity here.

  6. I love the influence Josh Homme has had on this band. Alex Turner really is his little brother from another mother.

  7. Hey man, there’s nothing wrong with stoner rock, man.

  8. This song is fantastic. Also, the video is amazing. Reminds me of Mind Mischief
