Portland band Hausu’s debut album — and one of my honorable mentions for best of the year so far — Total is out today via Hardly Art. Along with its release, the post-hardcore group has shared a Chris Ando-directed video for its track “Kool Off” and it’s kind of a(n awesomely) weird one. The visuals are equally as off-kilter as the track, the discordant riffs lining up nicely with the oddball dance performance/science experiment. And while it doesn’t have the same theme as the cult flick the band takes their name from, it is certainly indebted to the film’s scrappy aesthetics. Get into it below.
