Jay-Z - Magna Carta Holy Grail

Jay-Z’s new album Magna Carta Holy Grail is out in the world now, and it’s pretty clear at this point that it’s a Samsung promotional branding move first and a Jay-Z album second. But whatever your feelings about the album’s massive promotional push, or about Jay’s late-career big-money art-collector largesse, the album has tracks that are worth hearing. And if you haven’t yet copped the Samsung download or found other, less legal means of hearing the album, you can now stream the whole thing online for free; all you need is a Spotify account. Listen and render your own judgement below.

  1. I feel like if he had lopped off the first 5-7 tracks it would be a much stronger album.

  2. Also, Pharrell has made the same song 3 times in 2 months.

  3. holy buttseks batman, this is an awful album. i mean some beats are neat, for the first min of each song, but the “lyrics” are awful. i thought rhyming “nigga” with “nigga” went out of style with busta rhymes!?!? then to go on with a bunch of rhyming “uhhhhhhhhhh” with “uuhhhhhhhh” is also really great. poor samsung, if they didnt give out versions with radio edits then i would assume a class action could be cooked up for indecent exposure, funny cuz he “raps’ about his daughter. sidenote; F east coast bs
