The bright and polished New York indie-pop duo Cults gave us a promising self-titled debut a couple of years ago, and now they’re set to follow it up with a second album called Static. This time around, Shane Stoneback, the man who produced that debut album, shares production duties with Ben Allen, who most famously helmed Animal Collective’s Merriweather Post Pavilion (and who’s also behind Washed Out’s forthcoming sophomore effort Paracosm). Check out a light-happy minute-long Static trailer below.

Static is out 10/15 on Columbia.

  1. HELL YES. I’ve been waiting on a new Hoobastank album.

  2. Really enjoying the two sounds heard in this preview. Have they played any new material live?
