As part of the A.V. Club’s Undercover video series, in which bands cover songs that we might not expect them to cover, Toronto post-hardcore bashers METZ recently stood outside a Chicago chicken spot in what looks like blistering heat to cover a not-all-that-surprising song. For their entry, METZ took on the Damned’s first-wave punk rager “Neat Neat Neat,” and it’s a bit refreshing to hear them playing something so simple after witnessing the stomach-punch tempo-shifts of their live show. The self-titled METZ debut album is out now on Sub Pop.
