Drake - "Hold On We're Going Home"

Drake brought a shit-ton of guest stars to his Toronto hometown last night for his annual OVO Festival, and now he’s got another new song, too. “Hold On We’re Going Home” is a very different song from “All Me,” the banger he released last week. It’s a slow, airy devotional romantic ballad, sung instead of rapped, with a gasping sample that I should recognize but don’t. (Beach House, maybe? Julianna Barwick? Please, take to the comments section and let me know; it’s driving me nuts.) The track also has some great falsetto backing vocals, from one Majid Jordan. Listen below.

Drake’s new album Nothing Was The Same is out 9/17 on Cash Money. Can’t wait.

  1. The engineer at Soundcloud who invented Soundcloud comments deserves Comedy’s Most Prestigious Award.

  2. This is really good, I definitely dig Drake’s slower stuff. I can’t really listen to his faster songs where he tries being tough though. He never really had it tough, thats why i think I find his more emotional/romantic songs like this better than his rap game stuff.

  3. This track is a BEAST! A highly sensitive and vulnerable BEAST!
